Description

On many construction projects, impact damages are still one of the least recognized areas of recovery. In most claim discussions, owners and contractors usually concentrate on issues such as poor design, site conditions, change orders, and broader construction claims. When damages are discussed, the focus often stays on direct labor costs, time extensions, extended overhead, and similar visible consequences. What is often missed are the indirect effects that flow from negative project events. This webinar explains the usual causes of impact damages, the proof required to establish them, and the methods used to pursue recovery. It also explores how disruptive events create productivity loss, how that loss can be measured, and how it may be reflected in a productivity-impacted schedule update through cpm scheduling methods.

Objectives:-

  • Attendees will be able to identify the common causes of impact damages.
  • Will understand that contractors may recover impact-related costs even when the project itself does not suffer overall delay.
  • Attendees will review 14 examples of recoverable impact-related claims along with the proof needed to support each one.
  • Information will be provided on methods used to recover impact damages.
  • A discussion of labor performance fundamentals, including labor inefficiency and supporting documentation, will help establish the basis for impact analysis.
  • The webinar will explain how work disruption can affect performance and how disruption claims may be supported through proper records and analysis.
  • Steps for preparing a productivity-impacted schedule update will be presented, along with the two main purposes such updates serve, including their value in evaluating delay damages.

Who Should Attend This Webinar?

  • Owners and owner field staff participating in construction projects.
  • Construction managers and design professionals involved with project execution.
  • Contractor executives and project managers involved with construction projects.
